Steps to make this photo valentines card for your valentine this year

Now that you have your supplies, let’s make this photo valentines card.

1. Fold the base of your card

The first step to make this photo valentines card is super simple – fold the base of your card. Fold your cardstock in half. I chose red for the base of my card, but you can personalize the base of the card to the recipient and choose a pattern or color you think they will like.

2. Cut out hearts from cardstock paper

The next step to make this photo valentines card is to cut out your paper hearts. To give the card a more fun look, I recommend using 2-4 different colors and patterns so you have a couple of hearts in each one.

For uniform hearts and time saving, you can use a heart shaped hole punch but you can also cut the hearts out by hand using scissors.

When choosing the colors and patterns, my biggest tip to have them look good together is to pick a color scheme they all fall into. I chose all Valentine’s Day themed colors and added in some metallic cardstock as well for an extra touch.

3. Cut the photo to fit in the frame

The next step to make this photo valentines card is to cut the photo to fit into your frame. For example, I was using a 4 x 6 in. photo but needed to cut it to fit into a square frame. The easiest way to do this is to hold the frame over the photo and then cut against the edge of the frame so the photo will end up the same size.

4. Assemble the card

The last step to make this photo valentines card is to assemble all of the elements of the card. Using hot glue or your preferred adhesive, attach the picture, frame, and cut out hearts. For a more organic look, don’t be afraid to layer the items on top of each other.

Those are the steps to make this photo valentines card…

Now your card is ready to go – all you have to do is write a note on the inside and throw it in an envelope.
